Summer School Program Proves Successful
Oconee County, GA
Malcom Bridge Middle School
A group of 8th grade students at Malcom Bridge Middle School, including students with learning disabilities, were identified as at-risk students after failing the CRCT (criterion-referenced competency test) which would allow them on to move on to the 9th grade. To address this problem, Malcom Bridge Middle School decided to utilize Apangea Math as a core component of their summer school curriculum. A customized Apangea Math pathway was created and implemented for the 4 week summer school program to prepare these students to re-take the CRCT. As a result, 78% of students passed their CRCT and were able to move on to the 9th grade in the Fall.

Testimony
"My student passed math in his classroom for the first time in years. He found a confidence in Apangea he had not had before and it carried over into his regular math class. He is highly competitive and became motivated by points and his desire to see his name on the screen, beating out the others. It's the first time in a long time he was pumped up, according to his mother." -Jamie Parker, Teacher
