New York City Boost Pass Rate on Exit Exam
New York, NY
Harry S. Truman High School
A group of more than 160 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students were identified as being at-risk of not graduating from high school with a need to pass the Regents Algebra 1 exam to graduate. For four months these students were placed in an intensive Apangea Learning Math program. After four months of heavy usage, 56% of the students passed the Regents exam and qualified for a New York City high school diploma and 40% qualified for a New York State high school diploma.
Testimony
"A lot of students have been doing their work at home. Never have I seen students go home and work so much. I also like how user friendly the teacher interface is. I can run a report to see what the students have accomplished in a day. I often go around the room with my laptop and show them how many points they have and what they need to pass. It's a great motivator." -Janet Perez,
