Apangea Learning Appoints New Director of Customer Services Plus Additional Sales Executives & Marketing Staff

PITTSBURGH, August 11, 2009 - Apangea Learning Inc., leaders in personalized, one-on-one online tutoring for students nationwide, said today that it has appointed Jeremy G. Trabucco as director of customer services to manage service implementation and user support.

The company also said that it has appointed Will Paul and Jeff Darville as sales executives, Sanjay Rathore as a summer MBA associate, Iris Butler as special marketing projects coordinator and Mike White as summer intern.

"We're delighted that these outstanding individuals have opted to further their careers with us," said Gerry Balbier, executive vice president. "With a major service enhancement just weeks away and long-range plans to expand our service offerings and geographical reach, we are a company on the move."

Before joining Apangea earlier this summer, Trabucco held a number of management positions with companies primarily in the business services sector. He most recently was an executive-in-residence at the Idea Foundry, a technology entrepreneurial incubator based in Pittsburgh. He has also been a CEO and senior executive with responsibilities for operations improvement, strategic positioning and growth.

Trabucco's mission at Apangea is to help schools implement the company's tutoring services, and then to help teachers and administrators maximize the effectiveness of the programs through training and user support.

New Apangea sales executives Paul and Darville, meanwhile, both bring years of business development expertise. Paul most recently was an account manager and sales representative for an exhibits company, while Darville previously was with Education Management Corporation.

Summer MBA Associate Sanjay Rathore is currently pursuing an MBA from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. He previously was in a general management role for the Indian Oil Corporation after graduating from the Indian Institute of Technology. He is helping Apangea with long-range strategic planning and analysis.

In addition to her new position with Apangea, special marketing projects coordinator Iris Butler is a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Education. She previously worked for an organization in Pittsburgh that seeks to promote understanding among diverse population groups.

Mike White graduated from high school in Pittsburgh earlier this summer. His internship stems from Apangea's support of the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation (www.bloomfield-garfield.org), a community development organization.
